Spinal Stress ScreeningSpinal Stress Screenings Spinal stress screenings measure the scar tissue build up near the spine in the neck and back. Scar tissue is an indicator that damage has occurred around the spine. The damage may have been caused by a physical jolt such as a car accident or sports injury, or it could be caused by poor posture or scoliosis (abnormal curvature of the spine). A misalignment of the spine can affect the nerves that travel throughout the body and lead to ailments such as back pains, neck pains, headaches, and tingling sensations in the extremities. A Chiropractor or Physical Therapist uses a computerized thermography unit to detect higher levels of heat in the skin near the spine. Higher levels of heat indicate more blood flow to the area. Blood flow iincreases in damaged areas of the body. The test is easy, non intrusive and takes less than 1 minute. Results are given and explained to employees immediately.
